1 September: Two South African icons – musician Pops Mohammed and poet Don Mattera – launch the 2011 Arts Alive season at The Fringe at The Joburg Theatre with their debut of a specially commissioned work. This is followed by a performance of Season of Simplicity by Agulhas Theatre Works. More

2010 Arts Alive performances

From the popular Jazz on the Lake to Hip Hop Mudaland, from Freedom to Dance to Monday Blues at Ko’Spotong, there was a lot on the 2010 programme. Dada Masilo’s interpretation of Swan Lake was the highlight of the opening ceremony. Laugh out loud with host David Newman and fellow stand-up comedians Words flowed with the poetry sessions Words on Water and Speak the Mind
