Dear Resident,

The office of the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Councillor Herman Mashaba, has been alerted to a phishing e-mail scam targeting members of the public.

The email, purporting to be sent by the Executive Mayor, requests recipients to submit their private details in exchange for receiving financial support towards their charitable enterprises.

No communication of this description has been issued by the Executive Mayor in his personal capacity, by his office, the City of Johannesburg or any of its affiliates.
