Residents are advised to take note of information circulating on social media and chat groups regarding a planned interruption by Rand Water due to maintenance at the Eikenhof pump station.

The message suggests that the interruption will disrupt water supply at various suburbs in Roodepoort, Randburg, Northcliff and surrounds from 6pm on 24 January 2017 – 7pm on 25 January 2017. It lists the following areas as those likely to be affected:

“Bergbron, Constantia Kloof, Allen’s Nek, Weltevreden Park, Zandspruit, Randparkridge, Olivedale, Sundowner, Northwold, Boskruin, Bromhof, Kya Sands, Bloubosrand, Eagle Canyon, Honeydew, Poortview, Ruimsig, Wilgeheuwel, Little Falls and parts of North Riding. Other affected suburbs are: Albertskroon, Albertsville, Brixton, Melville, Emmarentia, Auckland Park, Greenside, Westcliff, Parkview, Fairlands, Berario and Northcliff. The following hospitals will also be without water: Wilgeheuwel, Flora Clinic, Olivedale, Helen Joseph and Baragwanath.”

Please note that the information is incorrect, does not come from official sources and should be disregarded. There is no planned water interruption from 6pm on 24 January 2017 – 7pm on 25 January 2017.
