People's Centre

People's Centre in Region E

24 Friedman Drive
Sandton
Tel: 011 582 1400

Hours:
Mon - Fri
7.30am - 4pm

The People's Centre offers information on and help with local government services. In other words, it is a link between the community and local government. It serves as a one-stop service point to give residents access to services provided by the government and other stakeholders. As such, it symbolises the local government's continuing commitment to deliver good quality services to provide a better life for all its citizens.

The staff members at the People's Centre are committed to being accessible, knowledgeable, consistent, efficient and caring.

Help desk
The help desk provides residents with information and assistance relating to local government services. Complaints can be made here if any of the services that provided by local government - including roads, traffic signs, water and sewerage - break down or are not properly maintained.

Queries are logged at the help desk and are referred to customer care for an immediate response. Some requests may take longer to process, however progress on the time it takes to respond is monitored and statistics are generated to assess efficiency.

Both local and regional information is provided. The Customer Care Network supports the centre, whereby different departments and functions in local government provide it with information and assistance.

Cash payments

Residents will be able to pay for a variety of services such as taxes, electricity and water.

Regional functions
The centre provides a telephonic link to the functions of health, sports and social development. If a resident or visitor needs any information on any of these services, staff members are able to get it over the telephone. The City's Housing Department has a direct presence at the centre to help people with housing issues, queries and complaints.

Alexandra Renewal Project information desk
There is an information desk for the Alexandra Renewal Project at the centre which can help with any information needed on the project.
