Unplanned interruptions 1. City Power Fordsburg Substation Please note that there was power failure at the City Power Fordsburg Substation that impacted on Rand Water Eikenhof pump station. This had a negative impact on our Hurst Hill, Crosby and Brixton reservoir system over and above the fact that our pump stations are down due to the power failure at Crosby and Brixton. The Hurst Hill and Brixton Tower is empty and Brixton Reservoir on low levels. Power is now restored at Eikenhof Rand Water pump station. Their Meredale reservoir recovered to about 45% and they have opened the outlets. We will thus start getting water supply into our Crosby Brixton and Hurst Hill reservoirs. Note recovery will be very slow. Unplanned interruption 1. Rand Water Shutdown Please note that the Eikenhof pump station is in full operation. Our system is slowly recovering. Hursthill reservoirs are 50% opened. Brixton and Crosby reservoirs are fully opened while the Constantia Tower is still empty. We will keep customers updated throughout the day on our social media platforms.
