Group Forensic and Investigation Service (GFIS) is the City of Johannesburg’s anti-fraud and corruption department. GFIS has a key mandate to develop an anti-corruption strategic framework and implement programmes in support of the City’s strategic objectives. About Us The role of GFIS is to ensure that an effective fraud risk management process is in place to provide operational effectiveness to the City’s prevention, detection, investigation, and response to the risks of fraud, corruption, theft of assets and maladministration. Vision We envision a City free of fraud, corruption, theft of CoJ assets, vandalism, maladministration (including UIFWs), illegal connections, breach of security and hijacked properties. Mission With speed and high impact; we strive toward preventing, detecting, investigating and resolving crimes committed against the City of Johannesburg through cooperation with other Law Enforcement Agencies.
