Freight and logistics Print E-mail
20 December 2009

JOBURG’S advanced road, rail and air network and container depot infrastructure has resulted in the City gaining increasing recognition as a freight and logistics hub.

Joburg’s rail and road network connects it to all the main cities and ports in the sub-continent, while it is very close to OR Tambo International Airport, Africa’s busiest and biggest airport and freight and logistics hub.

The OR Tambo International Airport IDZ further promotes opportunities within this sector, as does the City Deep Transport Logistics Hub, Africa’s largest inland port and the largest container depot in SA, and the 63-hectare Joburg Market, Africa’s largest fresh produce market.

In addition to import and export opportunities due to the logistics infrastructure, there exist openings for manufacturers of time-sensitive projects.
