29 September 2015
The City of Johannesburg Health Department in Region F will conduct a 5km Fun Walk on Saturday 03 October 2015 at Kiblerpark, Kenneth Gardens Park (Behind Kiblerpark clinic) ward 125.

The idea is to promote healthy living as part of GDS 2040 vision, that by 2040 we will have a healthy community to reduce the burden of chronic diseases. Participation is free and everyone is welcomed including accompanied minors, mothers with strollers and people living with disabilities.

The purpose of the 5km Fun Walk is to motivate the community to take ownership of their health and also aiming at forming support groups and gym clubs.

There will be a range of activities during the day, which include 5km fun walk, dance, aerobics and medical screening tests. All participating organisations will be given stalls to promote their services.

Participating Departments are Health and Social Development, Disaster Management, Citizen Relationship Management, Provincial Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, Wits Reproductive Health Institute, SANCA, Love Life, ANOVA and Virgin Active.
