02/02/2017: Power outage affecting Johannesburg City Centre
02 February 2017
City Power is experiencing power interruption in parts of central Johannesburg as a result of a burnt distributor in Pritchardt Street substation.



City Power technicians are on site working on repairing the fault. Presently 32% of the power has been restored. Areas that have been affected include the following:
  • Sanlam Centre
  • Bree Street
  • Jeppe Street
  • Plein Street and the sorroundings

Estimated time of restoration is currently not available but City Power will keep customers updated via its website www.citypower.co.za and twitter handle: @CityPowerjhb
Customers experiencing loss of power can call the City of Johannesburg call centre at 0860 562 874 or log a call on the City Power website www.citypower.co.za by navigating to the “Fault Logging” page.

City Power apologises to customers affected by outage for the inconvenience caused.
