City of Joburg reminds customers to adhere to FICA requirements prior to the deadline on the 30th September

Customers, who have not complied with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA) by Saturday, 30 September, may find the debit order for their City of Johannesburg municipal account returned.

Non-compliance with the Act, which is the failure to identify yourself and confirm your details in person at your nearest bank, will lead to restrictions on the use of your bank account. This may result in returned or cancelled debit orders due to the City, causing arrears on the account.
