Joburg intent on recovering RSC levy arrears

The City of Johannesburg has today appointed a panel of collection agents to recover outstanding Regional Service Council levies from defaulting businesses.

The panel consists of the following:
Bham and Dahya Attorneys
Metropolitan Levy Inspection Services cc and
Dhladhla and Associates Investigative Accountants.
Each agent employed by the entities will be provided with City of Johannesburg identification to curb fraudulent activity.

Although the legislative requirement to pay Regional Services Council RSC levies ceased on 30 June 2006, in terms of the Small Business Tax Amnesty and Amendment of Taxation laws Act no. 9 of 2006, the City has a legal obligation to collect all arrear levies up to June 2006.

Any enquires in this regard should be referred to one of the following telephone numbers: 011 358-3550 or 011 358-3550.

The City urges all businesses that have defaulted on the payment of RSC levies to pay and avoid legal action.
