Pikitup`s festive season waste collection plan
Pikitup Johannesburg will be operating as usual throughout the upcoming holidays this festive season, with Christmas Day being the only exception.
The company would like to advise the residents and businesses of Johannesburg that there will be no collection of domestic and business waste on Christmas Day, Tuesday, 25 December. All residents, whose waste is collected on Tuesdays, should please take their waste out for collection on Tuesday, 1 January, during which the accumulated refuse of 25 December will also be collected. Business waste will be collected as normal from 26 December again.
This temporary deviation from the normal residential waste collection schedule applies to Christmas Day ONLY! Thereafter, all Tuesday collection rounds will continue as per schedule.
The Inner City area, serviced by the Selby depot will be the only exception, where services will continue as normal on 25 December, due to the high volumes of waste generated during the festive period.
In addition, all landfill sites and garden sites will be closed on Christmas Day. On the remaining public holidays over the festive period, i.e. 17 and 26 December and on 1 January, all landfill sites, apart from the Ennerdale landfill will be open. The Panorama Composting Plant will be closed for business on 25 and 26 December as well as 1 January.
