2008-02-27: Opening of Council

A number of roads in Johannesburg will be closed for the annual Opening of the Johannesburg Metropolitan Council. The Council wishes to apologise for any inconvenience incurred during this brief period.

The affected streets will be closed at 07:00 am:

Corners of Jorissen and Jan Smuts streets
Corners of Jorissen and De Beers streets
Corners of Jorissen and Melle streets
Corners of Jorissen and Biccard streets
Corners of Jorissen and Harrison streets
Corners of De Kort and Rissik streets
Corners of Empire and Hoofd streets
Traffic will return to normal at no later than 11:00am

Participating in the Mayoral cavalcade will be:

JMPD, JMPD Drill Squad, EMS Drill Squad, SAPS Band and Johannesburg Regiment formation.
