2009-04-29: City of Johannesburg gears towards a safe winter
THE city will be bringing its services closer to the people to improve customer service levels during a month of shopping mall campaigns around Joburg.
The campaigns will begin at Southgate Mall on 2 May and Maponya Mall on May 3rd. Five more shopping malls have been identified namely:
Fourways in Region A
Cresta in Region B
Westgate in Region C
Sandton City in Region E
Trade Route in Region G
The campaigns will take place during weekends from 10h00 to 15h00 on Saturday and Sundays.
There will be exhibition stalls for the participating City's Municipal Owned Entities such as City power, Joburg Water, 2010, Johannesburg Zoo, Johannesburg Tourism Company, Emergency Management services, Pikitup, Revenue & Customer Relations Management, as well as Transport and Joburg Roads Agency. Messages will be driven towards critical information on safety.
Youth, adults and children visiting the shopping malls will stand a chance to win lots of giveaways.
Children will also be entertained by mascots on site and puppet shows that will run per hour to impart critical information on safety issues around candles, water efficiency, safe alternative energy, caring for the environment during winter and buckle up to stay alive.
The City's Revenue and Customer Relations Management will have a stand alone stall where customers can update their account details.
The City will be showcasing service delivery achievements and engaging with communities regarding service delivery issues by bringing COJ service closer to the people.
