2009-10-09: Public safety mall campaigns
THE City of Joburg is proud to host a series of public safety and law enforcement mall campaigns where safety initiatives in preparation for summer and the festive season will be showcased. The aim is to create awareness about safety and security amongst the citizens of Johannesburg.
Member of the Mayoral Committee responsible for Public Safety, Councillor Elgina Ndhlovu has identified an opportunity whereby the three law and safety enforcement agencies, namely
Joburg Emergency Management Services ( Joburg EMS) – on safety
Joburg Metropolitan Police Department – on law enforcement and
South African Police Services (SAPS) – on policing
can collaborate and partner in the hosting of these mall campaigns.
By using the shopping malls, the city is creating a platform whereby interaction with the city’s customers is done informally, in a relaxed atmosphere.
Included in the programme are advices on career paths by all agencies.
