2010-04-01: City takes safety of everyone in its premises serious

YESTERDAY,  31st March 2010, The Greater Johannesburg Regional Taxi Council Chairpersons  held a meeting chaired by their Chairperson Mr Eric Motshwane at the City of Johannesburg premises, Metropolitan Centre in Braamfontein.

The  meeting  was  interrupted  by other Taxi Associations and Mr Motshwane adjourned the meeting.

"Our  doors remain open to every taxi association but in this regard of the disruption  of  the  meeting  the  City  had  to  ask everyone to leave the building  for  safety  reasons.  The  meeting  room can only accommodate 20 people  and after the invasion of the meeting there were about 80 people in the  room,  and  that  was not safe for everyone in the room as well as the employees   of   the  City  of  Johannesburg",  says  Nkhensani  Makhobela, Spokesperson of the Executive Mayor.

Once again I would like to emphasise that the City asked the people present at the meeting vacate the building for safety reasons.
