2010-05-20: Blue Bulls at Orlando Stadium   

The City of Joburg is very ecstatic to host the sellout Super 14 semi finals between the Bulls and the Crusaders at Orlando Stadium in Soweto this Saturday, 22 May 2010.

"This is the first international rugby tournament to be played in the township environment and the city is very excited to be hosting it in Soweto," said Sibongile Mazibuko, Executive Director for the City's 2010 office.  The Super14 is an international Rugby tournament.

Rugby is one of the city's seven priority sporting codes.  The city hopes that bringing the sport in Soweto will help to motivate kids aspiring to play this game at a professional level.  

Orlando stadium will benefit a number of vendors as more professional games are planned for this facility in the near future.

On the same day the City hosts the final of Nedbank Challenge at the inauguration of Soccer City Stadium. 

With the ReaVaya and the Metrorail stations strategically located within the Orlando Stadium precincts, transport to and from the two stadiums for fans attending different matches is expected to run smoothly. Kickoff times are staggered with the Soccer planned for 3pm and the rugby to kick off at 17h00.

There will be 150 Buses ferrying fans from a Park and Ride area in Centurion (park and ride) to Orlando.  Buses will drop people off at Mooki Street.  Another 100 buses will shuttle spectators from the Expo Centre parking (park and ride) to Orlando East. All buses will start from13h00 to 16h00. 

Orlando Stadium will be also be hosting Bafana Bafana's international friendly match against Bulgaria on Monday, 24 May 2010 at 20h30.
