2011-06-30:City’s new development plans to begin soon
Today Thursday 30 June 2011, the City’s Central Strategy Unit obtained Council approval of its Service Delivery and Budget Implementation Plans (SDBIP) for the new financial year.
The SDBIP are developed concurrent to the Budget and Integrated Development Plan. This is a detailed plan of the implementation of the municipality’s delivery of services and the spending of its annual budget.
The SDBIP can be described as a contract between the City and its residents outlining the goals and objectives as quantifiable outcomes that can be implemented during a period of 12 months.
It contains detailed capital works broken down by Ward, service delivery targets and performance indicators for each quarter and monthly projections of revenue to be collected for each source.
Generally communities will see their needs that have been approved come to fruition in relation to public lighting, roads, clinics, parks, libraries, bridges and other amenities. At the same time it makes provision for the City to commission necessary engineering services, undertake new developments and beautification projects to name a few.
