2011-06-30:More reasons to celebrate – less to hibernate – Joburg rocks!

While racing fans and fashionistas converge on the Vodacom Durban July for a weekend of fun, lifestyle festivities, the Joburg Tourism Company will be injecting their own brand of vibrancy into the proceedings, utilizing this exciting occasion as a marketing platform to promote Joburg’s action-packed calendar of signature events.

“Our participation in this event forms part of our Winter Campaign to boost domestic tourism and our overall strategy to entrench Joburg as the African continent’s leading year round destination for business, lifestyle, leisure, sport, arts and culture,” says Lindiwe Kwele, CEO of the Johannesburg Tourism Company (JTC).  “We’re always looking to entice local and international visitors to Joburg and there are plenty of reasons to do so.

The next few months sees a variety of events on the Joburg winter calendar including the Inanda Africa Cup Polo Tournament (29-31 July), the Carling Cup – Soweto Derby (30 July) and the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz (25-27 August). From a Joburg Welcome activation at King Shaka International Airport to hosting guests and media at the Global Events Marquee on the race day, we’ll be there in full force, reminding everyone that Joburg Rocks - even in the middle of winter!”
