2011-07-26: Customers alert: Late statements for July 2011

THE City of Johannesburg would like to advise its customers that there is a city wide delay in the posting of municipal accounts.  As a result, customers will be receiving their July 2011 statements late and in some cases after their usual due date.

This is attributable to the delay in the implementation and finalization of annual electricity tariffs process which normally comes into effect from the beginning of July 2011. Customers, who receive their statements via internet, can expect their electronic statements as from today.

Municipal account holders are reminded that it is still incumbent upon residents to pay their account even if no statement has been received.

According to Revenue & Customer Relations Department spokesperson, Kgamanyane Maphologela, customers are encouraged to continue to pay their municipal accounts as per their normal monthly consumption.

The City of Johannesburg would like to apologise to all its customers who have been adversely affected by these delays.

Customers who have a query can phone the call centre and log a query with Joburg Connect at (011) 375-5555 or email them at joburgconnect@joburg.org.za.
