2011-10-10: Growth and Development Strategy reach out to People with Disability (PwDs)

AS part of the ongoing Growth and Development outreach programme, the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Clr Parks Tau, will engage and address people with disabilities on the 12 October 2011 at the Museum Africa in Newtown.

The City recognizes that not all can be achieved without the active and direct involvement of all its residents, including People with Disability PwD's and Disability Sector Organizations.

Through this engagement, People with Disability (PwD's) stakeholders will give inputs to the growth and development path which seeks to transform the City into a better place for all. The City's GDS caters for its residents and encourages everyone to participate in the process, as the theme say: "we are all players".

The following stakeholders are expected to attend this gathering:

Joburg Disability Forum
All Regional Disability Fora
The Blind SA
Alex Disability movement
Self help Association of Paraplegic(SHP)
Johannesburg Council for the blind
"Joburg, a City where community development, personal growth and social mobility are enhanced so that challenges of poverty, vulnerability, inequality and social exclusion are fundamentally addressed".
