02-10-2012: City of Joburg announces the appointment of two new Managing Directors

 

The City of Johannesburg has announced two executive appointments for its Municipal Entities.
 
Ms. Amanda Nair has been appointed Managing Director for Pikitup and Mr Lungile Dlamini appointed new Managing Director for Johannesburg Water.
 
The appointments are part of the City’s Institutional Review Process (IRP) announced by the Executive Mayor Parks Tau when delivering the State of the City

Address early this year and seek to ensure that the City reaches its goal of a being a world class African city.
 
Mayor Tau said as a large organisation, the City of Johannesburg has to continually assess its performance in order to enhance its service delivery mandate.

“The IRP aims to align the activities of the City to the Growth and Development Strategy (GDS) – Joburg 2040 which will result in an effective and modern

system that will strengthen accountability, oversight, transparency and corporate governance.”
 
The appointments are a welcome enhancement to the gender transformation profile of the City’s leadership. 
 
When welcoming the new appointees, the City Manger of the City of Johannesburg, Mr. Trevor Fowler said, “We wish to congratulate them on this exciting

journey, may it be a successful and fulfilling chapter. The people of Johannesburg deserve only the best.”
