2012-11-29: City of Joburg Executive Mayor hosts a birthday party for vulnerable children
Children who are disabled, orphaned and vulnerable including those heading families will have their birthday wishes granted on 01 December 2012 when the City of Johannesburg Executive Mayor, Parks Tau, invite them to Every Child Birthday party.
This event under the auspices of the City of Johannesburg’s Department of Health and Social Development aims to put a smile on these vulnerable children. These children don’t have an opportunity to celebrate their birthdays unlike their peers who are fortunate. They often come from poor backgrounds whereby a birthday celebration is a luxury. As a result they feel less fortunate and envy other children who have parents and better backgrounds.
For the past six years the “Every Child Birthday Event” has been running successfully and the City will be hosting birthday party for over 1500 children who are disabled, orphaned and vulnerable.
For many of these children, they will have the birthday party for the first time in their lives and celebrating it with their friends will probably be their biggest Christmas wish ever this year.
The event will take place as follows:
Date: Saturday, 01 December 2012
Time: 8h00-15h00
Venue: Delta Park, Blargowrie, Corner Road no 3 and Road No 5
