2012-12-28: City Power Johannesburg Prepayment Customers

On 31 December 2012, City Power will shut down the prepayment electricity vending system. The shutdown will be from 22h00 to 06h00(01 Jan 2013). Customers will not be able to purchase electricity for the duration of the shutdown.

The purpose of the shutdown is to perform essential upgrading on the prepayment system for the start of the new calendar year.

Please note that after the upgrade the prepayment customers will be categorized according to the applicable energy consumption blocks listed below:

Block 1: 0 – 300 kWh @ R0.7828 /kWh

Block 2: 301 – 500 kWh @ R0.8245 /kWh

Block 3: 501 – 1000 kWh @ R1.0715 /kWh

Block 4: 1001 – 2000 kWh @ R1.0933 /kWh

Block 5: 2001 - 3000 kWh @ R1.1197 /kWh

Block 6: 3001 and over @ R1.1337 /kWh
