06-05-2013: Power outage in Florida Glen and adjacent areas

City Power is currently experiencing a major power outage as a result of theft and vandalism of substation equipment. In particular, 33 000 volt oil pressured cables and auxiliary equipment have been affected. We are working around the clock, together with the assistance of a specialised external service provider, to restore supply of electricity to the affected areas.

At this stage it is anticipated that electricity supply to the following affected areas will be restored within 4 to 5 days:
