30-12-2013: Joburg New Year’s Eve Festival star studded line-up
The City of Joburg, will be hosting a New Year’s Eve Festival on the evening of 31st December 2013, at the Mary Fitzgerald Square, as part of improving the quality of lives of citizens, and ensuring a safe and happy new year.
The City takes pleasure in announcing the star studded line-up for this event; Chomee, Kelly Khumalo, Mdu, Skwatta Kamp, Arthur, Ismael, Pro Kid, Brickz, Zola, Mshoza, Mandoza, DJ AJ, Mzambiya, Mshoza, DJ Shimza and Doc Shebeleza.
The Joburg New Year's Eve Party will be at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown on Tuesday, 31 December 2013, the party will start from 6:00pm till late. Entrance is free!
Together with all party goers, the City invites the media to attend the New Year’s Eve bash.
More than 10 000 party goers are expected to attend this year’s party. The party will also include a massive ten minute fireworks display at midnight.
Joburg residents are advised that the following roads will be closed on the 31st; Miriam Makeba and Bree, Miriam Makeba and Jeppe, Henry Xumalo and Bree, Henry Xumalo and Jeppe.
Secure parking is available for all who will be attending the party.
Party people are strongly advised to behave responsibly. Bottled beverages, alcohol, fireworks and weapons will not be allowed into the venue. There will be a strong presence of law enforcement agencies and Emergency Management Services to maintain law and order, and attend to all emergencies.
