11/06/2015: Region G is hitting the right note through communication culture change
The Regional Director, Mr. Mickey Padiachee upon taking office in Region G has realised that to give effect to the aspirations of the City of Johannesburg to be a vibrant, equitable, resilient and adaptive society introduced various mechanisms to foster a unified sense of direction as a region.
The Region’s operations hasnow become structured and focused on its strategic objective. Once such mechanism was the creation of a Service Delivery WhatsApp group that encouraged dialogue between the various Entities, Councillors to deal with service delivery challenges in an effective and efficient manner.
Heroes of the Month
City Power: Lukas Matsilele
City Power has without a doubt risen to the occasion as an institution of note in Region G. The Region is faced with different challenges that came about due to many unforeseen electricity problems including the ongoing problem of cable theft.
Lukas Matsilele and his team went beyond the call of duty in the manner in which they handled each crisis that arose. He efficiently positioned and managed teams to curb and control all the electricity related problems. Constant feedbacks were provided to Councillors and officials on the status with regard to emergency breakdowns reported. These teams worked day and night to ensure electricity connectivity to residents affected. We therefore accolade City Power for a job well executed.
Thank you City Power, Region G
