15/04/2015: Demolishing of rundown buildings at Diepkloof hostel 

The Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) Housing in the City of Johannesburg, Clr Dan Bovu, will be conducting emergency relocations at the Diepkloof Hostel.
BACKGROUND

The Gauteng Human Settlement Department at the beginning of 2014 procured the appointment of the contractor to construct Temporarily Residential Units (TRU’S) at Diepkloof Hostel to accommodate two hundred (200) families on emergency basis residing on Blocks that are rundown and posing a threat to human life.
To give effect to this intervention an audit was conducted to determine the actual number of families affected and in-loco site inspections were also conducted by both the City of Johannesburg Housing department and Gauteng Human Settlements officials.

The Relocations will take place as follows:
