04/11/2016: Daily water supply system status updates: Friday, 04 November 2016 (Morning)  

Water supply status update by exception (i.e. areas affected due to supply constraint and not service interruption from occasional pipe burst): supply across the City of Johannesburg is normal, with reservoir levels across the city in a satisfactory position.
Unplanned interruptions

Lenasia High Level Reservoir

• Is currently running low due to consumption exceeding supply.

• We advise residents to reduce consumption to avoid serious water shortages.

• Water tankers will be provided.

• Affected areas: Zakariyya Park and Lenasia

Corrine Moore Reservoir

• Is currently running low due to consumption exceeding supply.

• We advise residents to reduce consumption to avoid serious water shortages.

• Affected areas: Fairlands, Northcliff and Ext's, Berario and Black Heath

President Park Reservoir 2

• A water tanker is available on Potgieter Road.

• Affected areas: Glen Austin and parts of Randjesfontein

Reason: Tie- in

Impact on customers: No water

Residents are reminded that level-2 water restrictions are still in place and must be adhered to.

Level-2 water restrictions according to section 44 (3) of the Water Services Bylaw states that all consumers are forthwith compelled:

a) Not to water and irrigate their gardens from 06:00 and 18:00 every day;

b) Only hand held hosepipes or bucket/watering cans are allowed outside these hours.

Note that this is an additional requirement;

c) Not to fill their swimming pools with municipal water; and

d) Not to use hosepipes to wash their cars, paved areas, etc.

Water saving tips

• Don't leave taps dripping;

• Take shallow baths; and

• Use bathwater or grey-water to water the garden.

We urge consumers to remain active partners in reducing the amount of water used in the City of Johannesburg, and to report any form of vandalism and theft of water infrastructure to 0800 00 25 87.
