06/10/2016: Joburg Mayor Mashaba receives Cosatu memorandum

The Executive Mayor Clr Herman Mashaba has accepted a memorandum from the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) which picketed outside the Metro Centre today Friday, 7 October 2016.

“I received and signed the memorandum which I will direct to relevant structures within the City, so they can carefully study it and respond to issues raised within a reasonable timeframe,” said Clr Mashaba.

Among issues raised were spatial development inequalities affecting previously marginalised communities, unemployment issues at Pikiup, poverty, a funding model for tertiary education and better access to public transport.
