29/09/2016: City of Johannesburg in Region E continues to roll out Jozi@work packages in the new financial year

The City of Johannesburg Region E will not have Jozi@work public forums for this month as the Region is giving City departments and Entities an opportunity to develop new Jozi@work packages.

As we are in the first months of a new financial year, this entails consideration of budgets to identify new work packages inline with the budget provisions. The previously rolled-out work packages will continue as the completing of the work as part of the Jozi@work programme.
Since the inception of the City of Johannesburg’s co-production programme, Jozi@Work, as at September 2016, more than 1135 job opportunities have been created in Region E. This is through the many cooperatives that have been contracted as the City’s partners for the implementation of various work packages designed to boost service delivery in the region.

Jozi@Work opportunities will continue to be available for cooperatives and other community based entities in Region E as the programme’s roll-out continues to impact more lives in our communities. The programme envisions to bring about socio-economic transformation in the lives of the people of the metropolitan municipality through the promotion of a culture of entrepreneurship.

To find out more about this empowerment initiative, community members are invited to contact Region E Jozi@Work coordinator:
