14/08/2017: Langlaagte Testing Station to resume operations after break-in
Yesterday evening, the Langlaagte Driving Licensing Testing Station (DLTC) was broken into after four men overpowered the security guards.
As a result, the Langlaagte testing station was not operational today as it is still a crime scene, and will be open again tomorrow.
The suspects gained entry to the station by using a key and stole security monitors, license disks and documents used to produce licenses.
The assailants also tried to bomb three safes, but only managed to access money from one.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) is currently investigating the matter.
JMPD’s visibility will also increase around the City’s DLTC’s to assist security companies wade off criminal elements.
As the Department of Safety we will not tolerate our facilities and residents being targeted by criminals, and we will do all we can to assist SAPS so that these criminals are brought to book.
