03/07/2017: Mayor Mashaba to launch extended operating hours at 10 of the City’s Libraries

Tomorrow, 04 July 2017, the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Cllr Herman Mashaba will officially launch extended operating hours at 10 of the City’s Regional Libraries.

The extension of the operating hours at libraries is in line with this administration’s pro-poor agenda, to make services and institutions accessible to those who have been neglected in the past. It is vital that we provide safe learning and studying environments for our youth after hours.

Since the piloting of the project on 3 June 2017, more than 2000 users have benefitted from the longer operating hours.

Mayor Mashaba will be joined by the MMC for Community Development, Cllr Nonhlanhla Sifumba.
