This year the Arts Alive Festival celebrates 25 years since inception. This iconic event has spoiled audiences year on year with multitudes of talent in a range of arts. The Festival has become synonymous with the ushering in of the Spring and September Heritage month celebrations. Audiences get the rare chance to experience various art forms such as dance, music, theatre, poetry and more. – stated MMC of Community Development
In order to ensure that as many people as possible are able to attend the celebrations, many of the events on the Arts Festival calendar are FREE of charge. Ensuring that patrons from all walks of life gain access to internationally acclaimed talent.
Featuring a range of musical tastes including Jazz, Reggae, Hip hop, R&B, Mbaqanga and more.
Prepare to be astounded by legends such as former drummer of the late legendary artist Prince and Beyoncé, Cora Coleman-Dunham (Queen Cora), Jazz legend Dean Fraser, SAMA’s Best Male Artist of the Year Kwesta, South African jazz legend Sibongile Khumalo, SAMA’s Best Newcomer, Best Female Artist and Best Album of the Year Amanda Black and one of the best female musicians on circuit right now, Zonke…to name a few.
There will also be Masterclass Workshops for music and creative writing as well as critically acclaimed writers and poets from around the world here to share experiences, teachings and skills.
