26/03/2017: Mayor Mashaba wages war on potholes
On Tuesday, 28 March 2017, Executive Mayor of Johannesburg, Cllr Herman Mashaba, and MMC for Transport, Cllr Nonhlanhla Makhuba, will be conducting road inspections in the Ivory Park and Midrand area as part of the City’s war on potholes.
This follows the recent adjustment budget’s R88 million allocation towards addressing road infrastructure related backlogs. Despite the City’s decades long infrastructure related challenges, we are dedicated to progressively reversing the City’s transport network challenges.
The programme for the event will start with a community engagement at Ivory Park, where both the Executive Mayor and MMC will repair potholes. This will take place on Mulele Street between Dube and Nare Streets. The second leg of the programme will take place on Old Pretoria Road Opposite Midrand China Mall, Midrand CBD, where the Executive Mayor and MMC will assist in the resurfacing of the road.
