29/08/2017: Joburg City Theatres Passes on Heartfelt Sympathy to Hillbrow Theatre
Joburg City Theatres (Soweto Theatre, Roodepoort Theatre & Joburg Theatre) passes on its heartfelt sympathy to neighbours Hillbrow Theatre for the unfortunate incident that transpired at a concert in the early hours of Sunday morning.
We send our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.
Joburg City Theatres further wishes to clarify that the incident did not happen at any of its theatres. The initial reports indicated that the incident happened at a Joburg theatre, which may be confusing to our patrons.
Joburg City Theatres is committed to the safety of all theatre goers and are disturbed by the reports of what transpired at Hillbrow theatre. This incident has prompted us to review our security measures for all shows staged at our facilities.
