Today, Executive Mayor Cllr Herman Mashaba will participate in a special A Re Sebetseng cleaning campaign with the Lutheran and Anglican Churches of Soweto as well as the LUCSA Communion Office and Miss Earth South Africa.
The Executive Mayor was invited by Rev. Tsepo Matubatuba and Archdeacon Sepadi Moruthane to join them and 200 participants for a clean-up prior to the monthly City-wide clean-up tomorrow. Mr Njabulo Mnguni and Ms Gugu Mkhabela from the LUCSA Communion Office, Chief of JMPD Mr David Tembe and Director of Miss Earth South Africa, Ms Catherine Constantinides will also be in attendance.
During today’s clean-up, the Joburg Roads Agency will conduct Level 1 and Level 2 street repairs which includes fixing of potholes; Pikitup will provide gloves, refuse bags, 1 street truck, 3 loaders and volunteers from our Central Camp will join; and City Parks will conduct grass cutting and clearing.
Tomorrow the Executive Mayor will join the community of Doornkop for a clean-up around a primary school and crèche.
