On Saturday, Executive Mayor for the City of Johannesburg, Cllr Herman Mashaba, will visit to the community of Slovo Park and Elias Motsoaledi, to witness the completion of the City’s electrification of the two communities.
On 19 February 2018, installation of electricity infrastructure commenced in the area and on Saturday, 30 June 2018, residents who have been waiting over 20 years to receive basic services, will have electricity in their homes for the first time.
As part of the electricity roll-out, we aim to bring dignity to our people and steer them away from connecting to electricity illegally which have started numerous fires and led to the unnecessary loss of life.
Mayor Mashaba will be joined by MMC for Environment and Infrastructure Services, Cllr Nico de Jager and MD for City Power, Mr Lerato Setshedi.
