The City of Johannesburg, through the Department of Development Planning, has developed a draft policy on Inclusionary Housing, which responds to the Spatial Development Framework 2040 for Johannesburg (SDF, 2016), the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act (16 of 2013, SPLUMA), and the City of Johannesburg Municipal Planning By-Law (2016).
All these make provision for inclusionary housing to be implemented by the City.
On 28 February 2018, the draft policy was approved to go out on a 60-day public commentary period, in line with the SPLUMA.
As a continuation of that process, the City invites interested & affected parties to a feedback session with Development Planning and senior political leadership in the City. The main purpose of the meeting is to provide a summary of the public comments received and to introduce policy amendments that have been formulated in response.
The meeting is scheduled as follows:
Date : Thursday, 02 August 2018
Time : 14h00 – 16h00
Venue : Level-A Lecture Theatre, Metro Centre, 158 Civic Boulevard, Braamfontein
Limited media will be allowed into the venue. Please RSVP before Tuesday, 31 July 2018.
