The Community Development Department’s Sport and Recreation Directorate will be hosting various activities for children and youth during the school holidays at recreation centres across the City.

These programmes are to ensure that those of our residents who cannot afford to go away on holiday still experience the best of our facilities during this season. 

This is yet another way this administration is ensuring excellent and continued service delivery, especially to those who were previously on the margins of service delivery.

“Residents are free to go to any of our recreation facilities to enjoy sport, swimming and arts and culture programmes, which have been designed to ensure that no one is bored over the festive season. I would like to encourage all residents to be safe, to take care of our facilities by not vandalizing or littering, and to take care of children, especially around our pools. I would also like to encourage residents to adhere to the City’s by-laws”, said Cllr Nonhlanhla Sifumba, MMC for Community Development. 

“The festive season is a time of great reflection, but also of great festivities. Please be safe, we want to see you all in the New Year”, added MMC Sifumba. 

Below are a list of programmes which will be taking place across the City. Residents are encouraged to go to the different recreational facilities in their regions to find out more.​
