MMC for Economic Development, Cllr Leah Knott, is delighted to welcome the new Director of Trade and Investment Promotions (Ms Letumile Sebolai) and Director of Sustainable Employment Facilitation (Ms Lulama Ndlovu) who assumed their roles in the first week of September 2018.
Ms Sebolai takes on a crucial role in the Trade and Investment Department which is responsible for attracting and facilitating internal and external investment in Joburg.
She holds a B.Com Degree from the University of Pretoria and a Master’s in Business Administration completed at the Gordon Institute of Business Science and has also concluded numerous Executive Development Programmes. She has worked on inclusive industrial development within high impact investment projects, ICT and high technology industries.
“She brings with her a wealth of experience as an industrial economist as well as in-depth knowledge in economic research and policy development,” said MMC for Economic Development, Cllr Leah Knott.
Ms Lulama Ndlovu assumes the role of Director for Sustainable Employment Facilitation. She has worked for numerous metropolitan municipalities in various divisions ranging from Community and Social Development and Economic Development. She holds a BA (Social Work) Degree with majors in Social work and Psychology and completed her Master’s Degree in Development Studies from the University of Fort Hare. She has also completed numerous executive and public sector leadership development programmes.
“Her expertise within Expanded Public Works Programmes (EPWP) will be highly beneficial to empower the most vulnerable members of our society at a time where we are enhancing and realigning EPWP policies towards a more efficient strategy,” said MMC Knott.
With these two dynamic professionals at the forefront of our Department’s most critical units, we can assure residents and the business community of a City that will develop and implement policies that work.
