Eikenhof Pumpstation

There was a power outage at the Rand Water Eikenhof pump station last night which affected water supply to greater Soweto, Roodepoort, Hursthill, Crosby and Brixton.

Power has been restored and Rand water has started pumping. Residents are asked to note that it will take several hours for the affected reservoirs to build capacity.

The Brixton reservoir and tower were also affected by the power failure and the outlets for the reservoir and tower have been closed To try and build capacity. Water tankers are still available for residents to use.

Critical places like hospitals, clinics, schools and old age homes are urged to contact JW customer care officials for assistance with an alternative water supply.
