Johannesburg Water would like  to let residents know that power was restored to Eikenhof last night ​and Rand Water started pumping at 04h00am this morning.

Some of the areas that were affected who are on a direct feed  have started to get water, but some of the reservoirs and towers still remain closed in order to build capacity. 
 
•         Radiokop, Wilgeheuwel, Weltevredenpark and the surrounding areas in the West should have water now.
•         We are opening Crown Garden’s Tower zone, therefore, customers should expect water by midday.
•         Eagles Nest reservoir should be opened by 11h00 am this morning.
•         Crosby reservoir is open and customers should start having water in the Industria area and surrounding.
•         We are busy pumping into the Brixton reservoir to build capacity.
•         The Hursthill reservoir flow is improving but it still remains closed.
•         Watervaal and Quellerina remains closed while we capacitate.
•         Parts of Florida, Roodeport CBD, Florida lake, Fleuhof and Maraisburg we are in the process of building up pressure for these areas.
•         Constantia tower is still empty as we are waiting for the pressure to stabilize.
•         Witpoortjie reservoir and tower will remain closed and customers will experience poor pressure. However, we expect the situation to improve later.
•         Heldekruin tower is still empty as we capacitate the reservoir. The situation will improve as the day progresses.
•         Honeydew tower is still empty but we will open the reservoir to feed Zandspruit, North Riding, North World ,Sandowner and North Gate, Bromhof , Boskruin, Kya Sand, and Sharonlea.
•         Linden tower customers should start receiving water now.
•         Linden 1 reservoir remains closed as we build capacity.
•         Linden 2 reservoir is in the process of recovering. Customers in Ruiterhof, Malanshof, President Ridge, Cresta and Darrenwoood should have water at poor pressure as capacity increases.
•         Kensington B reservoir is open but the tower remains empty as we are building capacity.
•         Lenasia Cosmos outlet is partially open and customers will experience poor pressure as we build capacity.
•         Horizon tower still remains closed while we are building capacity. Portions of Florida Park, Helderkruin and Discovery will be affected.

We appeal to all schools and clinics to allow residents to draw water until the situation improves.
 
We have over 32 roaming trucks on the ground to refill up the water tankers and 50 tankers. Residents are urged to check regular updates on the JW official media platforms. Residents can obtain more information by calling City of Joburg Call Centre on 011 375 5555.
