The Linden Swimming Pool has been reopened today after it was closed due to an electrical fault that caused the filtering system not to work.

The fault with the filtering system caused the water to be dirty and not fit for bathing.

As a City we take the health and safety of our residents seriously. This is why we decided to close the pool to the public until the water was safe for bathing.

We acknowledge that the closure of the pool caused inconvenience to the people of Linden, as they had to visit other nearby swimming pools or do without enjoying pool services. I would like to apologise for this, and promise the residents that we are working tirelessly to minimise or eradicate these closures.

I would further like to remind the residents of Joburg that the swimming season has been extended for a month to the end of April.

The operating hours of the pool until the 30th of April are as follows:

Monday – Friday                            06:00 – 19:00
Saturdays                                        09:00 – 18:00
Sundays & Public Holidays            08:00 – 18:00
