On Tuesday, 21 August 2018, the Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Community Development in the City of Johannesburg, Cllr Nonhlanhla Sifumba, will embark on an inspection of the City’s swimming pools and recreational facilities in Regions C and E.

The aim of these inspections is to ensure that the pools and recreation centres will be opened on the 1st of September – which is the start of the swimming season.

Visits to recreational facilities aim to ensure that the requisite repairs and maintenance are carried out in compliance with Occupational and Health standards, and also to ensure that the residents have a positive experience when they visit our centres.

The inspections will be carried out per region throughout the City.

Members of the media are invited to join us in the oversight, as it forms a critical part of our service delivery to the residents of Joburg.
