Johannesburg Water would like to advise residents of Ennerdale, Lenasia South, Finetown, Zakkaria Park, Vlakfontein and Lehae about the emergency major repair on the main valve supplying Lenasia reservoirs that has been taking place since late yesterday to this moment . The work continued while we were able to maintain supply to all affected arrears.
At this moment areas supplied by the reservoir have been experiencing low to no water and the JW team is still busy with repairs which we anticipate should be completed by 18h00pm tonight. Residents are asked to keep water that they will use for drinking purposes in containers and to use water sparingly as we continue work as the reservoir levels are dropping .
Rand Water experienced power failure earlier today and could not pump water into the Ennerdale Reservoir. The power is back and we have begun pumping to the reservoirs and we expect residents to start getting water at a slow pace. We estimate that affected areas should have water fully restored in a late this evening.
Johannesburg Water is committed to provide sustainable water to all residents and apologisies for the inconvenience.
