Members of the Johannesburg Children's Council aired their views on what it means to be a citizen.
One of the objectives behind setting up the Johannesburg Children's Council, was to create a platform for youngsters to start having meaningful dialogues and debates around citizenship issues that affect them.
And so, these learners participated in a dialogue on Thursday, 28 May at the Roodepoort council chamber. Their insightful and interesting views proved that children have much to contribute to the country's young democracy, and that a way should be found for them to take part in the City's various public participation initiatives.
