Water supply has been fully restored to the northern suburbs following a burst pipe in Houghton Estate.

Spokesperson of Joburg Water Millicent Kabwe said the 375mm pipe at the corner of Oxford Road and Eleventh Avenue has been repaired. The pipe burst in the early hours of Thursday, 7 June and left the suburbs of Rosebank, Saxonwold, Parkwood, Parktown North and Parkhust without water for some hours.

“Work was finished this afternoon at around 1pm and all affected areas will have water shortly, but in some areas it will take time because it has to fill up the pipe lines first,” said Kabwe.
