Pikitup has permanently closed its Waterval Garden Site, and people are asked to take their garden refuse and ewaste to another site.
THE Waterval Garden Site in Albert Street, Waterval, has been permanently closed and residents are urged to use other sites to dispose of their garden waste.
According to Pansy Oyedele, the communications manager at Pikitup, the site was permanently closed on 12 January.
“Further details about relocation will be communicated once plans have been finalised. In the meantime, residents are advised to use alternative sites,” she said.
Alternative sites that can be used for disposal of garden waste and ewaste are Victory Park Garden Site, on Victory Road in Greenside; Fairland Garden Site, on Fifth Avenue in Fairland; Penny Road Garden Site, on Penny Road in Roodepoort; and Roodepoort Panorama Garden Site, on Jim Fouche Road, Panorama.
