A special section has been set up on the Joburg website listing all councillors, including mayoral committee members, and their contact details.
ELECTED officials are servants of the people; however, because of their busy schedules, they are not always available and cannot always be contacted by the public they represent.

With that in mind, the City of Joburg now has a section on the City of Joburg website, listing everyone who is part of the City council, including ward councillors, proportional representatives and the executive committee.

The website page, which is part of political governance, has pictures of councillors, their designations in the City, political parties and their contact details.

According to the City’s spokesperson, Nthatisi Modingoane, the page was set up so that people could get to know their councillors, and how to contact them if needed. In addition, a poster of the councillors carrying their contact details will be published in all Caxton newspapers distributed in Joburg this week.

The City’s executive mayor is Parks Tau. His executive committee includes members of the mayoral committee for housing, Dan Bovu; transport, Rehana Moosajee; public safety, Matshidiso Mfikoe; corporate and shared services, Mally Mokoena; health and social development, Nonceba Molwele; development planning, Ruby Mathang; economic development, Sello Lemao; environment, infrastructure and services, Roslynn Greeff; finance, Geoffrey Makhubo; and community development, Chris Vondo.
